Talented singer, bright personality: Gegham Grigoryan's requiem ceremony held

YEREVAN, MARCH 24, ARMENPRESS. The concert hall of AlexanderSpendiaryan Opera and BalletNationalTheatre hosted the requiem ceremony of renowned opera singer and performer Gegham Grigoryan. “Armenpress” reports that ceremony was conducted in the hall where the People’s Artist of Armenia and Lithuania performed. It is the hall where fans repeatedly applauded Gegham Grigoryan.

“The world knows that he was a great artist. Besides, he was a good Armenian and person. He gave a special place to national values. He said that he would live only in Yerevan. And these are words of the man, who worked in different famous cities in the world. He loved his fatherland and Yerevan very much. It's a pity that he went too soon,” Armenia’s People's artist Thomas Poghosyan said.

According to ViolaPlayerMaksim Novikov, Gegham Grigoryan was a brilliant man and talented personality.

“He was a genius singer for all the musicians of the world. I hope that we will implement in the future the projects, which we discussed and what he wanted to do,” he noted.

Cultural, public figures and fans attended the requiem ceremony.

On March 23 at the age of 65 Armenian famous opera singer (tenor) and artistic director of A. Spendiaryan Opera and Ballet Theater, Honored Artist of the Lithuanian SSR, USSR People's Artist, recipient of "Movses Khorenatsi" and "Service to Motherland" 1st degree medals Gegham Grigoryan passed away.

The last farewell to Gegham Grigoryan will be held on March 25 at 11:00-14:00 in A. Spendiaryan Opera and Ballet Theater. Funerals will be held at 14:00 in the in Pantheon of Komitas Park.
