“Borussia” defeats “Tottenham”: Mkhitaryan participates in whole match

YEREVAN, MARCH 10, ARMENPRESS. Within the 1/8 finals of the Europe football League Germany’s Dortmund "Borussia" defeated “Tottenham" by 3:0.

As “Armenpress" reports, right from the beginning of the match “Borussia” took the initiative in their hands, indicating that they are going to lead the game. From the first moments the German team had territorial advantage. "Borussia" footballers had more possession of the ball, but the "Tottenham" players sometimes tried to take sharp counterattacks. At the end of the first half, the German team started to apply pressure at the opponent’s goals. "Dortmund" made several dangerous attacks, and at the 30th minute Aubameyang opened the score with Marcel Schmelzer’s assist. No other goals were scored during the 1st half, although "Borussia" continued to put pressure on the opponent.

The second half also started with the German team’s active play. "Borussia" could have doubled the score at the beginning, but after Mkhitaryan’s assist Aubameyang kicked the ball in the direction of the defender, who diverted it, while Gonzalo Castro missed the goals, hitting the bar. At the 61st minute after a corner kick Neven Subotic passed the ball with his head to Marco Reus, who scored the second goal from a close distance.

Even after the 2nd goal "Borussia" didn’t stop the pressure and scored another goal. Marco Reus scored at the 70th minute after Gonzalo Castro’s assist. No scores were recorded during the remaining time.

Armenia national team midfielder Henrikh Mkhitaryan played for the German club from the beginning until the end. The Armenian midfielder was one of the most active players on the pitch.
