Iran ready to mediate Nagorno Karabakh settlement: Ansari

YEREVAN, JANUARY 25, ARMENPRESS. Iranis ready to mediate the settlement of theNagorno Karabakhconflict if Armenia and Azerbaijan want it to, the Islamic Republic’s Deputy Foreign Minister said during a Tehran-hosted briefing on January 25, as “Armenpress” reports, citing RIA Novosti.

“From the early days of the Nagorno Karabakh conflict, Iran has always tried to prevent escalation and settle the conflict in a peaceful way,”Hossein Jaberi Ansarisaid.

“If you look into the past, you’ll see that Iran has in the most difficult times tried to resolve the crisis between Azerbaijan and Armenia,” he said.

Iran has expressed interest in mediating the Karabakh conflict settlement in the past.
