YEREVAN, DECEMBER 10, ARMENPRESS. Armenia with a 3 million population, can already be at the same level with India, having 1.2 billion population, in terms of offering solutions in IT sector. The huge market of India must become one of the priorities of Armenian IT products. As “Armenpress” reports, the opinion belongs to Director of Enterprise Incubator Foundation Bagrat Yengibaryan.

Participation in annual exhibition - Indian Engineering Sourcing Show Trip to India had 3 main objectives. The first one was the participation of Armenian organizations and EIF at annual Indian Engineering Sourcing Show held in Mumbai. Yengibaryan was glad to inform that they managed to present 5 Armenian companies including representatives of Gyumri and Vanadzor technology centers, establishing very promising ties.

New project of Armenian-Indian Center for Excellence in ICT (AITC)

The second objective was meeting with Center for Development of Advanced Computing (C-DAC). The basis of cooperation with C-DAC was laid almost 5 years ago by establishing the Armenian-Indian Center for Excellence in ICT, which is their most successful project in the region. Taking into account the achievements of the Armenian-Indian Center for Excellence in ICT it was important to discuss the second step of the project which will be implemented together with EIF, NAS RA and C-DAC. The new project will have 3 directions: improvement of education in high performance computing, cyber-security, mobile solutions and issues related to study of big data.

Possible sectors for cooperation

Yengibaryan states that cyber-security is a serious challenge in India; cooperation is also possible in the spheres of mobile solutions and big data analytics, as well as IT solutions in different sectors of economy.

Startup movement

We are much more ahead of them in Yerevan Director of Enterprise Incubator Foundation Bagrat Yengibaryan said that he did not see anything new to learn from Kerala Technopark and that it shows that we are much ahead of them in Yerevan. He also added that they, unlike us, have no problems connected with bringing startups into other markets. Because of huge internal market startups will work well in their own market, that’ll be enough for them. Yengibaryan added that we must constantly keep in touch with India, as we are already in equal positions with them in terms of startups and we must use that giant country to enter its market.
