Erdoğan announces about early elections in Turkey

YEREVAN, AUGUST 21, ARMENPRESS. Turkey will hold new parliamentaryelections onNovember1. "Armenpress" reports, citing “Anadolu” agency, that Turkey President Recep TayyipErdoğan made such an announcement.

Moreover, the President announced that after 45 days, he would meet his parliament speaker again and after this talk, they would hopefully bring the country to an early election.

Since July 13,Davutoğlumet with both Republican People's Party(CHP) leader Kemal Kilicdaroğlu and Nationalist Movement Party(MHP) leader Devlet Bahceli forcoalition talks that in the endproved fruitless.

Following the June 7 generalelection which resulted inno single-party majority, Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoğluwas asked by Erdogan to form a new government on July 9 within a 45-day time frame, whichends on Sunday.

According to the Constitution of Turkey if government is not formed within 45 days after elections on the president’s instruction, early parliamentary elections must be held.
