Gérard Depardieu to star in a movie about Armenian Genocide

MOSCOW, AUGUST 10, ARMENPRESS. Armenian film director Artak Igityanplans to shoot a film about the Armenian Genocide titled “Anatolian Story”. French famous actors Gérard Depardieu and Samy Naceri will star in the film.

Armenpress reports, referring to rusarminfo.ru (Russian-Armenian news agency), that the main hero of the film is Mustapha Gazi who dedicated his whole life to serving Turkey. When Mustapha is aged, he, who had always hated Armenia and the Armenians, discovers he’s Armenian.

The music for the film will be composed by Michel Legrand. According to the website, the famous composer demanded to add the Armenian Ter-Mikaelian to the surname Legrand in the subtitles. Gérard Darmon will play Mustapha Gazi, Samy Naceri will play Mustapha’s son and Depardieu will star as a lawyer in the film. The screening is expected to start in November, 2015. The film shooting will be held in Armenia, Turkey, France and Germany.
