Turkey's Erdoğan discusses terror with Putin and Masum

YEREVAN, JULY 27, ARMENPRESS: Turkey's President Recep TayyipErdoğandiscussed theterrorproblem in the region in separate phone conversations withRussian President VladimirPutinandIraqi PresidentFuad MasumSunday, Armenpress reports, citing Anadolu Agency.

Leadershave heldphone talks,presidential sources said,during whichPutinand Masumconveyed condolences to thefamilies of Turkishvictims killed in recentterrorattacks.

Turkey has had a bitter week with dozens of citizens dying in a wave ofterrorattacks.

On Wednesday, two police officers were found shot dead at their shared home in Sanliurfa's Ceylanpinar district -- an attack for which thePKK terrorist organization claimed responsibility.

A day later,another policeman was killed in a gun attack in Diyarbakir.

The same day,gunfire from Syria killed a Turkish military officer and injured two troops in southernKilisprovince, prompting Turkish forces to return fire.

On Friday, another police officer was kidnapped as he was heading from Mardin to Mus with his family on the Diyarbakir-Bingol Highway, police said.

The countryhas started operations against Daesh and the PKK in northern Syria and Iraq.

Erdoğan, describingDaesh as "a virus spreading all across the region", said Turkey would fight against allterrororganizations to the very end.

He also stressed that fight against the PKK would continue unlesstheterrorgroup brings an end to its terrorattacks in the country.

Masum agreed, saying the violence the PKK instigates badly affects peace in the region.

The three leaders agreed that cooperation in combating terrorism is significant, presidential sources added.
