YEREVAN, JULY 20, ARMENPRESS. Ahmet Davutoğlu, the leader of the Justice and Development Party and the acting Prime Minister, assigned the provincial leaders of the party to be ready for early parliamentary elections.
Armenpress reports that, Anadolu Agency, referring to its Government sources, informed that Davutoğlu had a telephone conversation with Justice and Development Party provincial leaders concerning Muslim Ramadan. He informed that in spite of the fact that the negotiations of opposition political parties on forming a coalition are still in progress, early parliamentary elections are possible. All the provincial organizations of Justice and Development Party should be prepared for this.
The negotiation process shows that the coalition between Justice and the Development Party and the Republican People's Party is possible but the sources close to the Turkish elite inform that the President of Turkey, Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, is against the formation of a coalition government. Erdoğan reiterated: “A coalition government cannot secure Turkey’s future.”
