Discussions on Armenian Genocide conference at Istanbul Bilgi University continue

YEREVAN, 6 APRIL, ARMENPRESS. Discussions on the conduct of the conference “Armenian Genocide: Concepts and Comparative Perspectives” at Istanbul Bilgi University continue. As “Armenpress” reports, the discussions come after news that Istanbul Bilgi University announced that it had cancelled the conference, after which the University’s representatives rushed to deny that information.

According to Agos Weekly, the University’s rector’s office reported that it hadn’t received any appeal for a conference, meaning that the news about cancellation is inaccurate.

However, in an interview with Agos Weekly, the organizers of the conference mentioned that the University’s commentary was inaccurate. They stressed the fact that they had submitted the corresponding appeal to the University’s General Secretariat on March 17, after which the news about the conference had been posted on the University’s website and was later removed.
