YEREVAN, 6 FEBRUARY, ARMENPRESS. France’s Politique Internationale journal, which is one of the most prestigious publications in the world of foreign politics and diplomacy, has published the article on the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict settlement byMinister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Armenia Edward Nalbandyan.

As the Department of Press, Information and Public Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Armenia reports to “Armenpress”, in his extensive article entitled “Nagorno-Karabakh: Is the Settlement Really Visible?”, Edward Nalbandyan goes into detail on the roots of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, the peace process, the legal aspects of the conflict and the possible ways of settling the conflict.

Edward Nalbandyan also presents in detail the efforts that are being made for the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict settlement starting from the early 1990s, the stages of the process of negotiation, the proposals presented by the OSCE Minsk Group co-chairs and the latest developments. The minister attaches importance to the mediators’ proposed confidence-building measures, as well as touches upon the anti-Armenian propaganda at the highest level in Azerbaijan and the dangerous consequences of that propaganda. Presenting Armenia’s vision for a settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, Edward Nalbandyan writes:“We are certain that the principles and elements outlined in the statements by the leaders of the co-chairing countries over the past six years may serve as a basis for the just and enduring settlement of the conflict. The Armenian side shares the view that the nations must prepare for peace, not war. Unfortunately, to this day, the Azerbaijani government is doing exactly the opposite.”

Minister Nalbandyan’s article (in English and French) has also been published as a supplement (brochure) to the Politique Internationale journal.
