GYUMRI, 20 JANUARY, ARMENPRESS. President of the Republic of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan and the Armenian government will do everything possible to make sure the trial is as fair as possible in order to meet Gyumri citizens’ demand for the revelation of the crime that took place in Gyumri. As “Armenpress” reports, this is what Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia Hovik Abrahamyan said during a press conference following the Requiem Service for six-month-old Seryozha Avetisyan who survived the murder of the Avetisyans in Gyumri and who died in Yerevan on January 19.
“The Head of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation is in Armenia, and the investigation is underway. The Armenian authorities, under the President’s leadership, are doing everything possible to meet our people’s demand and fulfill their request. What happened is a great tragedy, and the loss of the Avetisyans is a great loss for the Armenian nation,” the head of government emphasized, expressing once again his condolences to the Avetisyans’ relatives and expressing certainty that the court will set a fair punishment.
Afterwards, the Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia, with the accompaniment of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Armenia and the Ministry of Territorial Administration and Emergency Situations of the Republic of Armenia Armen Muradyan and Armen Yeritsyan, as well as municipal authorities walked from St. Nshan Church to the 7 Wounds Church where he took part in a candle-lighting ceremony in memory of the Avetisyans and for their souls to rest in peace.
Seryozha Avetisyan’s funeral service will be held at 13:00 on January 21. The body will be placed near his family members’ bodies at Shirak Cemetery.
