Suspect in attack on Aram Manukyan released with signature

YEREVAN, 15 DECEMBER, ARMENPRESS. On December 14, citizen A. Svazyan was engaged as a suspect within the frames of the criminal case being examined in the proceedings instituted by the Investigative Department of Yerevan in relation to the attack on Deputy of the National Assembly Aram Manukyan. As the Department of Information and Public Relations of the Investigative Committee of the Republic of Armenia reports to “ArmenPress”, conclusion N 2185/h of the forensic expert examination for Aram Manukyan didn’t give a full evaluation of the level of physical injuries that he had suffered. Based on the conclusion, the level of damage caused to health in relation to the unclear outcome of the brain concussion will be determined in three weeks (31 December), for which the person undergoing expert examination must be present with a DBGGK ambulatory card.

According to Article 18 (4) of the Criminal Procedure Code of the Republic of Armenia, “All doubts of evidence of the charge that can be dispelled within the scope of the proper legal procedure in accordance with the provisions of this code shall be interpreted in favor of the accused or the suspect”. Thus, the person has been engaged as a suspect for committing an act provided for by Article 117 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Armenia, that is, causing light injury to the health of Aram Manukyan, and a signature to not leave has been selected as a measure of restraint. The Investigative Department of Yerevan is continuing the preliminary investigation.
