“Day of Epos” festival aimed at raising awareness about Armenian folklore heritage

YERVAN, OCTOBER 2, ARMENPRESS: “Day of Epos” republican festival will solemnly wrap up on October 4 in Sasunik community, Aragatsotn province.

Various events – lectures, readings, art exhibitions, performances of national song and dance ensembles, were conducted in 2014 April-September in rural and urban communities of Armenia, in secondary schools and in a dozen of cultural and sports institutions, Public Relations Department of the Culture Ministry of Armenia told Armenpress.

The goal of the festival is to preserve “David of Sassoun”epos (Armenian:Sasuntsi Davit), which is a masterpiece of the Armenian folklore heritage, as well as to strengthen the respect and appreciation of traditional, spiritual and cultural values.
