Residents of Azerbaijani village Mezem returned home with white flag

YEREVAN, AUGUST 12, ARMENPRESS. The residents of the border Berkaber village of Tavush region were the witnesses of the defeatist psychology of our enemy, ready to leave their homeland and flee in panic in case of the slightest danger. Berkaber is one of the closest villages to the Armenian-Azerbaijani border: this village is just 800 meters from neighboring Azerbaijani village Mezem. The neighbors, thus, see perfectly well what happens with each other.

A week ago, when the tension on the Armenian-Azerbaijani border was rather high, the people of Azerbaijani Mezem left their settlement. Co-founder of the NGO "Border" George Tabakyan engaged in social activities in Berkaber, in a conversation with “Armenpress” noted that the peasants had told him that for days they had not seen the Azerbaijani shepherds in the fields, and after a few days they have witnessed the mass exodus of the inhabitants of those places that panicking fled their homes, taking only the essentials.
