Russian Government approved agreement on Armenia’s accession to Eurasian Economic Union

YEREVAN, AUGUST 7, ARMENPRESS.The Government of the Russian Federation approved the agreement on Armenia’s accession to the Eurasian Economic Union (EEU). After the approval of the Government, the document will be presented to the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin. “It is a fundamental document, which defines the agreement between the Russian Federation, Belarus and Kazakhstan on the conditions of the accession of the Republic of Armenia to the Eurasian Economic Union,” reports “Armenpress”, citing the official website of the Government of the Russian Federation.

On May 29, Russia, Belarus and Kazakhstan signed an agreement about the Eurasian Economic Union to come into force on January 1, 2015.The Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia Hovik Abrahamyan had announced at a briefing with the reporters that there was no problem in the issue of Armenia’s accession to the Eurasian Economic Union and that Armenia had fulfilled all its obligations. According to him, Armenia will become a full member of the Eurasian Economic Union in October.
