Turkish Foreign Ministry dismisses reports on opening of Armenian-Turkish border

YEREVAN, JULY 5, ARMENPRESS. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkey has dismissed news spread in the Turkish media saying that the Prime Minister of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdoğan ordered to open the Alican checkpoint on the border with Armenia.

As reports “Armenpress” citing the official website of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkey, the Spokesman of the Ministry stated that the circulating rumors on the opening of the Armenian-Turkish border do not correspond to the reality.

Previously it was reported that Turkish "Taraf" newspaper wrote that Erdoğan, candidate in the presidential elections to be held in August, intends to make the second step after his "condolence" message sent on the eve of April 24, to normalize the relations between Turkey and Armenia.
