YEREVAN, JULY 3, ARMENPRESS. The regional round of public discussions of the concept of Constitutional reforms continues. The meeting held today, on June 3, in the city of Artashat, was attended by the representatives of local self-government bodies and civil society, residents of the region. As “Armenpress” was informed from the Department of Information and Public Relations of the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Armenia, Hrayr Tovmasyan, member of the Professional Commission on Constitutional Reforms under the President of the Republic of Armenia, speaking of the importance of the Constitution in the country’s development, noted that the Constitution must be able to provide the normal life of the state and society. “Today, we are talking about the shortcomings of the judicial system, freedom of meetings and so on: one of the means to solve them is the Constitution” – said the member of the Commission.
According to him the Constitution should solve several important issues – definition of human rights and freedoms, protection of these rights and freedoms, as well as real mechanisms to ensure them.
