YEREVAN, JUNE 5, ARMENPRESS. The representatives of Armenia’s parties who have active participation in the political life, attach attention not so much to the selection of this or that model of the governance in the result of the constitutional reforms than to the establishment of the acceptable mechanisms of authorities’ separation and balance.
In a conversation with Armenpress answering the question on the need for the constitutional reforms, the Chairman of “Free Democrats” party, the Deputy of the National Assembly Khachatur Kokobelyan noted: “The problems that we have today in Armenia are not connected with the Constitution. But I am against putting the issue in a simplified form. It does derive from it that we cannot not change the Constitution and not make it better”.
In response to the question on the preference of the models of the governance Khachatur Kokobelyan informed that “Free Democrats” are more a supporter to the parliamentary form of the governance, but they also share the opinion that this or that form of governance is not so important, the separation issue of the authorities is essential.
