Renowned Polish director Andrzej Wajda’s films to be presented to Armenian audience

YEREVAN, JUNE 2, ARMENPRESS. On the initiative of the Embassy of Poland to Armenia, a series of six films of the world-famous Polish film director Andrzej Wajda will be demonstrated in Yerevan. It is dedicated to the 25th anniversary of the first free elections in Eastern Europe. "On June 4, 1989, the first free parliamentary elections were held in Poland, which had a crucial significance for the countries of Central and Eastern Europe. This was followed by the velvet revolutions in the Czech Republic, Lithuania, Hungary and several other European countries. We tried to present these historical events not through conferences, but through the films of the renowned Polish film director Andrzej Wajda. The past of the Polish and Armenian people is very similar, and in some episodes of Wajda's films you will see episodes typical of your history" – reports “Armenpress”, citing the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Poland to Armenia Zdzislaw Raczynski, who also added, that by the demonstration of Andrzej Wajda’s films, they aim at presenting Poland in the historical and modern-day basis.
