YEREVAN, MAY 12, ARMENPRESS. People’s artist of Armenia, actress in the musical comedy theater named after H. Paronyan Svetlana Grigoryan died in the age of 84. Armenpress reports that the Chairman of Armenia’s Union of Theater Workers Hakob Ghazanchyan expressed his condolences on the death of the actress.
Svetlana Rubeni Grigoryan(born September 30, 1930 inYerevan) is an Armenian actress, People's Artist of Armenia.
Grigoryan has been performing on stage since the age of 13. After graduating from the Yerevan Institute of Fine Arts and Theater,Vardan Ajemianinvited her to theParonyan Musical Comedy Theatre of Yerevanwhere she has been working to this day.She is especially known for her comic roles (Roza in "Taxi, Taxi", Satenik in "In zokanche") in Paronyan State Theater of Musical Comedy.
In 2011, thePresident of Armeniasigned a decree to award Grigoryan First degree medal “For Services to Homeland” for "her considerable contributions to development of theatrical arts, for her high acting skills and for creating permanent characters".
Grigoryan was also awarded by the “Hakob Meghapart” Medal for her services to Armenian culture and on the occasion of her 80th birthday.
