Lasting peace possible in Karabakh conflict: Warlick

YEREVAN, MARCH 24, ARMENPRESS: The OSCE Minsk Group US Co-Chair James Warlick considers the meetings with the foreign ministers of Armenia and Azerbaijan to be positive. Armenpress reports that the American diplomat made a corresponding note in his Twitter blog. “We had positive meetings today with the foreign ministers of Armenia and Azerbaijan. Working together, a lasting peace is possible”, - wrote Warlick, adding that the United States of America wants peaceful settlement of the Nagorno Karabakh conflict for all the sides.

Earlier the OSCE Minsk Group US Co-Chair James Warlick stated that he was waiting impatiently for the meeting of the Presidents of Armenia and Azerbaijan, Serzh Sargsyan and Ilham Aliyev. Warlick made a note about it in his Twitter blog: “Looking forward to meeting with the Presidents and FMs of Armenia and Azerbaijan at the Nuclear Security Summit in The Hague, March 23-25”.

After the meeting between the Presidents of Armenia and Azerbaijan, Serzh Sargsyan and Ilham Aliyev, held in Vienna on November 19 the Presidents of the two countries ordered the Ministers of Foreign Affairs Edward Nalbandyan and Elmar Mammadyarov to continue meetings towards the settlement of Nagorno Karabakh conflict. The OSCE Minsk Group co-chairs had a meeting with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan Elmar Mammadyarov on March 10 and on March 11 they met with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Armenia Edward Nalbandyan.
