Azerbaijan will recognize Karabakh independence: Russian political expert

YEREVAN, FEBRUARY 5, ARMENPRESS: The Nagorno Karabakh Republic will sooner or later be recognized by the official Baku.Armenpress reports, citing the Azerbaijani axar.az that the Russian political expert and the Director of the International Institutefor NewStates Alexei Martynov told about it in the interview given to the agency.

To the question – how can the results of the Gagauzia referendum affect the unrecognized post-Soviet territories, including the Nagorno Karabakh Republic - Alexei Martynov answered that the issue of Karabakh’s joining the Customs Union can be discussed (the major part of the population of Gagauzia voted for the joining the Customs Union).“It is the business of the Nagorno Karabakh Republic and the Customs Union member countries”, - he emphasized.

To the question – how will the Karabakh conflict issue be settled in his opinion – Martynov stated: “I will be laconic: I am certain that the Karabakh conflict issue will sooner or later end with the recognition of that little state by Baku, Moscow, as well as the other UN member states”.
