STEPANAKERT, JANUARY 23, ARMENPRESS: The information, spread by the Azerbaijani propaganda machine, according to which on January 23 the Captain of the Azerbaijani army Elnur Jafarov was killed by the shot made by the Armenian side in the northeastern direction of the line of contact of the opposing armies, does not correspond to the reality. The Press Service of the Ministry of Defense of the Nagorno Karabakh Republic informed Armenpress that the frontier subdivisions of the Defense Army continue keeping to the ceasefire regime and take response measures only in strictly necessary cases.
“Concerning the above-mentioned loss registered in the Azerbaijani army, the incident in the neighboring but not a friendly country should be taken into account not as a violation of the ceasefire regime but in the context of the aggressive actions by the Azerbaijani subverters against the Martakert protection line on January 19-20. It is worth mentioning that the Baku media spread information, according to which in the Azerbaijani army (due to different reasons) 2 death and 6 wound cases were registered on January 20-23. The conclusion from the above-mentioned facts is one – the military agitation propaganda of Azerbaijan gently tries to present the information, which should have been admitted several days ago…” – says the press release of the Press Service of the Ministry of Defense of the Nagorno Karabakh Republic.
