YEREVAN, DECEMBER 17, ARMENPRESS. Culture is among the best means to voice about the Armenian Gencodie all over the world. “Adana” project by the Merited Artist of the Republic of Armenia Ara Gevorgyan dedicated to the 90th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide, which was held in 2005, is to prove this thesis. The Armenian composer plans to introduce the song in 20 languages of the world in one album. In a conversation with “Armenpress” the prominent Armenian composer stated: “Thus we’ll have an opportunity to introduce our loses to the world in the languages everyone will understand.”
Ara Gevorgyan plans to tour the world together with 15 foreign singers. Among other things Ara Gevorgyan underscored: “The foreigners must tell the world about the Armenian Genocide in their own languages.” In addition the composer emphasized that currently he is working over the new song.
Ara Gevorgyan is an Armenian musician, composer and musical producer. In 2004 he was awarded the Honorary Artist of the Republic of Armenia title by the President Robert Kocharyan.
Gevorgyan's song Artsakh song has gained popularity in Armenia in the last decade.
Gevorgian is the son of Armenian folk-singer Valya Samvelyan. He studied at School #31 of Yerevan and at the A. Tigranyan Musical School at the same time. During the two years he studied at Yerevan #8 college of Fine Arts. From 1983 to 1987 he studied at Armenian State Pedagogical University at the faculty of woodwind instruments and pop music department. In 1987-1989 Gevorgian taught conducting at the same Institute, then he worked at Armenian Television ("3 Alik" TV program).
In 1983 he founded the "Rally" Armenian pop-rock band, the participant of "Song-85" festival.
He participated in the Opening Ceremony of the Cultural Year of Armenia in Russia hosted at the Moscow Kremlin Music Hall and honored by the presence of the presidents of Armenia and Russia Robert Kocharyan and Vladimir Putin respectively and the famous singer Charles Aznavour.
Ara Gevorgian co-operates with Jivan Gasparyan, Ian Gillan, Demis Roussos, Pedro Eustache, Daniel Decker and others. Among his most popular songs are "Adana", "Artsakh", "Ov Hayots Ashkharh" and "Ovkyanosits ayn koghm". Gevorgyan also composed the music for Russian prima ballerina Anastasia Volochkova's "Golden cage" ballet dedicated to the Bolshoi Theater.
He is married, has a daughter and a son.
He has been awarded by the "Mikhail Lomonosov" Russian medal and the gold medal of the Ministry of Culture of Armenia.
During his concerts Ara gets many toys. His granting these toys to kindergartens has become a nice tradition.
Two kindergartens of Yerevan (N97, N140, N175 and N202 boarding kindergarten) have already received a great number of toys.
In the 2003, 2007 Ara Gevorgyan presented part of his collection of toys to the "Prkutyun" Rehabilitation Center of Disabled Children and "Orran" charitable public (non governmental) organization.
On the initiative of the "AdvenTure" club the first international rally "Metaksi Chanaparh" ("Silk Road") was staged on June 7-8, 2003 in Armenia. Both professional and amature racers participated in the competition from all over the world.
Ara Gevorgyan and Sargis Tashchian (navigator) participating in the competition for amature drivers emerged as winners of the race.
The winners received the diploma and a prize for the first place during the awarding ceremony held on June 9.
