Vardan Petrosyan to be arrested

YEREVAN, NOVEMBER 6, ARMENPRESS: The preliminary investigation body adopted a decision to arrest the actor Vardan Petrosyan. The employee of the Department for Mass Media and Public Relations of the Police of the Republic of Armenia Armen Malkhasyan informed Armenpress that a criminal case was instituted and now the investigation continues.

A major car crash occurred in Armenia’s Kotayk province on October 20. A BMW 320 car collided with a VAZ 2121 at the 2nd km of Yeghvard-Yerevan highway, sending the driver of VAZ 2121 and 6 passengers to hospital with injuries. Two of the injured died. A criminal case was opened under the Article 242 part 3 of the Criminal Code.

The renowned Armenian actor Vardan Petrosyan was driving the BMW. He was transported to Erebuni Medical Center with numerous fractures.

Earlier a note was published in the Facebook page of the actor, urging the people not to believe the lies saying that Vardan Petrosyan was drunk or broke the speed limit. The statement runs as follows: “We ask all those people, who spread these lies, disseminate hatred and voice about “justice” or vengeance, to wait for the end of the investigation. Vardan Petrosyan’s family got in touch with the family members of the victims and offered their deepest condolences”.
