Iranian ambassador and Catholicos of All Armenians discussed Syrian-Armenians’ issues

YEREVAN, SEPTEMBER 13, ARMENPRESS: In Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin Supreme Patriarch and Catholicos of All Armenians Karekin II on September 13 hosted ambassador extraordinary and plenipotentiary of Islamic Republic of Iran to the Republic of Armenia Mohammad Reisi and cultural adviser of the embassy Mehran Shiravandi. “Armenpress” was informed from press service of Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin that during the conversation Catholicos recorded that such meetings are favorable for strengthening cooperation expanding ties. Catholicos of All Armenians highly estimated the effective cooperation between two countries.

Reverberating to situation in Syria Karekin II expressed his deep concern on this occasion informing that Mother See is always in connection with leader of Armenian diocese in Damascus and does its best in favor of Syrian nation and Syrian-Armenian community. His Holiness also expressed hope that peaceful efforts of international community will be able to create secure and stable situation in the region and particularly in Syria.
