Alexander Maltsev and Erik Chabanov no longer involved in Hrachya Harutyunyan’s protection

YEREVAN, JULY 26, ARMENPRESS: One of the most popular lawyers of Moscow Ruben Margaryan and his team are currently protecting Hrachya Harutyunyan’s rights. The lawyers Alexander Maltsev and Erik Chabanov are no longer involved in the Armenian’s protection. This was reported to Armenpress by Alexander Maltsev. To clarify the details on the case, as well as get information about the current state of Hrachya Harutyunyan, the news agency applied to the Embassy of the Republic of Armenia to the Russian Federation. “The Embassy does everything possible so that the rights of Hrachya Harutyunyan are protected and an objective investigation is carried out. The case is currently under the control of a very experienced lawyer. We express our gratitude to all the lawyers, who have been working with us on this case from the very beginning”, - said the Advisor of the Embassy Eduard Jambazyan.

The current state of Hrachya Harutyunyan is relatively good. He left the state of shock. The Armenian citizen is now at the Matrosskaya Tishina isolator under the control of doctors.

The Embassy of the Republic of Armenia to Russia is in constant contact with the relatives of Hrachya Harutyunyan and regularly informs them about the state of the Armenian.

On July 13 at 13:00 in New Moscow, nearby the Podolsk Village, Kamaz truck came out of the second line and crashed into a bus driving from Podolsk to Kurilovo, sharing it into two parts. In the result of the car accident 18 people died and more than 30 were wounded. The driver of the truck Hrachya Harutyunyan was accused of the violation of the traffic security rules, causing the death of two or more people. Two-month detention was imposed to the Armenian. He was taken to the court in a woman’s bathrobe. On that ocassion a protest action was held in front of the Russian Embassy to Armenia, during which the protesters demanded protection of human rights and a proper attitude towards the citizen of the Republic of Armenia. On July 16 the Human Rights Defender of the Republic of Armenia Karen Andreasyan sent an official letter to his Russian counterpart Vladimir Lukin requesting for the protection of the dignity and other rights of Hrachya Harutyunyan. Karen Andreasyan left for Moscow on July 21 on Hrachya Harutyunyan’s case. Karen Andreasyan was intended to meet with Hrachya Harutyunyan. The Human Rights Defender was to discuss the Armenian driver’s case with the lawyers of the latter. In the framework of the visit Karen Andreasyan was to meet as well with the officials connected with the case, the representatives of the Armenian community and other interested parties.
