YEREVAN, JULY 23, ARMENPRESS: The feature film “Parajanov” was recognized the best Ukrainian feature film in the Odessa Film Festival. “If the film is considered Ukrainian in Ukraine, it should be considered Armenian in Armenia, French in France and Georgian in Georgia. This is the infinity of Parajanov”, - shared his impressions on the Festival the director and the main actor Serzh Avetikyan with the Armenpress correspondent. As noted by Serzh Avetikyan, probably the film will meet diverse audience and would have an interesting destiny. “Now we should know when “Parajanov” will appear in the Armenian rent services. I think that the Armenian audience is ready to watch it”, - stated the director of the film.
“Parajanov – lover of beautiful” film was shown for the first time to the Armenian audience on July 13 closing the Golden Apricot international festival. The idea of the film telling about the last twenty years of his life belongs to the director and the main actor Serzh Avetikyan and the Ukrainian producer and director Elena Fetisova who is the author of the scenario.
In the film lasting 93 minutes the audience had the opportunity to see Parajanov newly discovered by authors who is beautiful over both in the film and in life. The film shows happy years of Parajanov in Kiev and then his arrest in 1973.
In the film Parajanov is shown in quite a different, tragic side when he remembers his childhood years, his wife and son. “I am ill of love towards beautiful,” mentions Parajanov in the film joking that without spending two years in prison it is impossible to become talented artist.
Serzh Avetikyan was also a member of Golden Apricot jury. He earlier informed that the film will appear in September. He assured that in this film the audience will have opportunity to discover newly Parajanov. The film ends with exciting scene when director is sleeping in Paris on the bench near fountain.
After the end of the film the whole audience was clapping. Everyone was congratulating Avetikyan. Among the people who congratulated him was Atom Egoyan’s wife, actress Arsine Khanjian who could not hide her excitement and expressed her opinion in French.
The producers of the film also got invitations from many festivals – Venice, San Sebastian, Tokyo, Toronto, Montreal, San Paolo, etc. The film “Parajanov” was shot in Ukraine, France, Georgia and Armenia.
