Yerevan Metro reconstruction to be continued due to € 10 million loan and € 5 million grant means

YEREVAN, JUNE 28, ARMENPRESS. The reconstruction and modernization activities of the Yerevan metro will launch this year. The activities will be realized due to € 10 million loan and € 5 million grant means. The Press Secretary of the Yerevan Metro after Karen Demirchyan, Ninel Vardanyan stated this in a conversation with "Armenpress". Among other things Ninel Vardanyan noted: "Currently we are engaged in preparatory activities of technical nature to get ready for restoration activities." In addition the Press Spokeswoman underscored that it is considered to finish the second stage in 2016.

Also she assured that all the primary issues provisioned for this stage by the program will find their solution. "The financing format is the same we had for the first stage. € 15 million will be implemented to finish the activities," Ninel Vardanyan highlighted.

Yerevan Metro after Karen Demirchyanis a rapid transit system that serves the capital of Armenia, Yerevan. The system was launched in 1981 and like most former Soviet Metros, its stations are very deep and intricately decorated with national motifs. Presently 10 stations are active. Among them are Barekamutyun, Marshal Baghramyan, Yeritasardakan, Republic Square, General Andranik, David of Sasun, Gortsaranain, Shengavit, Charbakh, and Garegin Nzhdeh Square.
