YEREVAN, JUNE 21, ARMENPRESS: In the framework of the program “Days of Yerevan in Saint Petersburg” on July 3 a concert featuring Armenian pop starts will be held at the largest concert hall of the northern capital of Russia “Oktyabrsky”.The list of guests also includes Inga and Anush Arshakyans. As reported by Armenpress, quoting the official website of the sisters, the forthcoming concert will be attended as well by the State Academic Choir of Armenia conducted by Hovhannes Chekijyan, Armenia’s State Dance Ensemble “Barekamutyun” (“Friendship”), etc.
Anush and Inga Arshakyans performed “New dance” song at the Eurovision 2009 International Song Contest.
Nowadays, Armenian ethno music is presented in a unique and exclusive way by the unprecedented duo of Inga and Anush Arshakyans. Their vocal, musical taste and soft sensation of ethnic music reveal the Armenian folk music, ethno tunes and complete portrayal of Armenian spirit. Through their creative work and achievements Inga and Anush Arshakyans verify that the roots of ethnic music are so pure, mighty, near and dear to heart that time does not taint, but embellishes it.
Inga and Anush sing and compose since their childhood. The sisters are Arno Babajanyan Music College alumni. Inga graduated from the violin department, while Anush graduated from the piano department. Graduating from the Yerevan State Conservatory the singers have performed jointly on the professional stage since 2000. At the beginning of the career the girls performed solo at the State Song Theatre of Armenia.
Since 2008 Anush and Inga Arshakyans cooperate with SHARM Holding production center.The music they offer is a fusion of Armenian folk music, rock, jazz and other genres of contemporary music performed with exceptionally strong voices. The sisters began their musical career through adapting Armenian ethno tunes and exclusive performance which was considered a kind of a challenge at that period in the Armenian show business. Through performing Armenian national songs, Inga and Anush have revived the threatened ethno tunes and have breathed a new life into folk melodies through rock and jazz arrangements.
