Armenian St. Paul – Peter Church included in the list of more endangered monuments of “Europe Nostra”

YEREVAN, MAY 4, ARMENPRESS. At the eve of April 18 – International Day of Monuments and Places of Interest, Europe Nostra - leading organization in the sphere of maintaining European heritage - announced the 14 cultural monuments which were included in the initial list of “7 more endangered” cultural and historical monuments. Armenpress reports that the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Armenia informs that St. Paul-Peter church of Aragatsotn region is also in that list. The church represents Armenian cultural heritage. The suit of the church was worked out and introduced by the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Armenia.

As it is mentioned in the official webpage of the organization the names of the monuments will be finally announced in Athens on June 16 during a conference dedicated to the 50th anniversary of “Europe Nostra.”

The program “7 more endangered” was launched in January 2012 inspired by a successful realization of the program “National Trust of Protection of the US Historical Environment.” Its main aims are to unite a number of private and state organizations under a common idea and thus reveal variants of financial sources of the protection of heritage.
