Police issued statement on April 9 events in Baghramyan Avenue

YEREVAN, APRIL 11, ARMENPRESS. The Police of the Republic of Armenia issued a statement regarding the events, which took place in Baghramyan Avenue on April 9. The Media and Public Relations Department of the Police of the Republic of Armenia informed "Armenpress" that in particular the statement runs as follows:
"Assessing the intentions and a number of planned or realized illegal actions during the rallies held in the Liberty Square, the Police of the Republic of Armenia has many times emphasized the necessity of maintaining the theses of the Constitution of the Republic of Armenia, International Commitments of the Republic of Armenia, the Law of the Republic of Armenia on Rallies, as well as the Law on the Police of the Republic of Armenia and pointed the obligations of the participants and organizers of the rallies, maintaining which would make possible to avoid the undesirable developments, which took place on April 9.
The April 9 events proved the argumentation and predictions of the Police of the Republic of Armenia.
The police of the Republic of Armenia spared no effort to avoid the most terrible consequences, which could follow the irresponsible and illegal behavior of separate participants of the rally and to avoid limitation of the proper realization of the political rights of peaceful participants."
