YEREVAN, MARCH 6, ARMENPRESS: A criminal case under article 34-305 of the Armenian Criminal Code has been initiated against Vardan Sedrakyan over the assassination attempt against the leader of union for "National Self-Determination" Paruyr Hayrikyan. The Press Centre of the National Security Service informed Armenpress about this.
As National Security Service press centre told Armenpress that on the very same day the body examining the case introduced the petition to the court. The Court of General Jurisdiction of Kentron and Nork-Marash Administrative Districts accepted the petition and detained Vardan Sedrakyan for two months. Vardan Sedrakyan was charged with ordering assassination of former presidential candidate Paruyr Hayrikyan.
The preliminary investigation is continuing, the public will be regularly informed about the procedure.
