YEREVAN, JANUARY 31, ARMENPRESS: Whitney Houston's brother Michael Houston has admitted on Oprah's show that when he started experimenting with cocaine and crack in the 80s, his younger sister followed his lead. As reports Armenpress, referring to international sources, his confessions seem to contradict the belief that it was Whitney’s ex-husband Bobby Brown who got her hooked on drugs. Whitney’s mother Cissy, who was with her son during the Oprah interview, claims she supports her son’s decision to come clean as he battles with his regret over his sister’s death.
In her book ‘Remembering Whitney’, Cissy admits her 'confusion' at finding out Michael and Whitney had been doing drugs together.
But she still isn’t willing to let Bobby Brown off the hook. In her book, she writes that from the start she had doubted whether Brown was right for her daughter. And she thinks that Whitney might not have ended up so “deep” into drugs had they not stayed together.
“I do believe her life would have turned out differently,” Houston writes. “It would have been easier for her to get sober and stay sober. Instead she was with someone who, like her, wanted to party. To me, he never seemed to be a help to her in the way she needed.”
“Remembering Whitney” came out Tuesday, two weeks short of the first anniversary of Houston's death. She drowned in a hotel bathtub in Beverly Hills, California, at age 48. Authorities said her death was complicated by cocaine use and heart disease.
