Sniper wounds Armenian in Aleppo

YEREVAN, JANUARY 14, ARMENPRESS. An Armenian was wounded in the Armenian New Village district of Aleppo on January 12. Press Secretary of the Armenian National Prelacy in Aleppo Jirair Reisian informed "Armenpress" about this. In addition he stated that the wounded Armenian is a middle-aged man, who passed through as dangerous area in order to shorten his way and appeared in the centre of attention of a sniper. According to Jirair Reisian he was operated on yesterday and notwithstanding his life is not in danger, the bullet heavily damaged his leg.

As per the current situation in Aleppo the Press Secretary stated that it was rather cold during the previous two days, but today the weather became relatively warmer. The central districts of the city are calm, although one must always be ready for unexpected accidents.

Among other things Press Secretary of the Armenian National Prelacy in Aleppo Jirair Reisian stated that the Aleppo Airport is still closed and there is no distinct information about the time of its reopening.

In accordance with the UN clashes lasting about 22 months in Syria caused death of over 60 thousand people, including more than four dozens Armenians.
