Polling stations already formed in Armenia

YEREVAN, JANUARY 7, ARMENPRESS. Over 2000 polling stations have been formed in 41 electoral areas for the presidential elections, which will be held on February 18 in Armenia.

As reports "Armenpress" citing the official website of the Central Election Comission, more than 450 polling stations have been formed in 13 electoral areas in Yerevan, over 140 in Aragatsotn, over 150 in Ararat, more than 170 in Armavir, over 150 in Gexarkunik. Over 130 polling stations have been formed in Kotayk, 220 in Lori, 220 in Shirak, over 150 in Syunik, 53 in Vayots Dzor and over 100 in Tavush.

The deadline of submitting all the necessary documents to the Central Electoral Commission of the Republic of Armenia ended on January 4, 2013. The Republican Party of Armenia Leader, President Serzh Sargsyan’s documents for participation in the presidential elections have been submitted to the Central Electoral Commission of the Republic of Armenia on December 27.

Notwithstanding, only 7 candidates have already paid the necessary fee of AMD 8 million. Among them are Serzh Sargsyan, Hrant Bagratyan, Paruyr Hayrikyan, Arman Melikyan, Raffi Hovhannisyan, Vardan Sedrakyn, and Andreas Ghukasyan.

The registration of the nominated candidates will be held on January 4-14. The election campaign will launch on January 21 and will last until February 16. The deadline of submitting resignations to the Central Electoral Commission of the Republic of Armenia is 18:00 o’clock February 8. The electronic votes will launch at 08:00 o’clock on February 9 and last until 20:00 o’clock February 13. The votes will kick off on February 18 at 08:00 and will last until 20:00 o’clock. Final results of the presidential elections will be announced on February 25, 2013.
