YEREVAN, AUGUST 27, ARMENPRESS: The inclusion of Armenian Genocide in school textbooks due to start from coming academic year arouse dissatisfaction among Turks. Though official Ankara hoped Francois Holland presidency would finally improve the strained Turkish-French relations yet after the coverage of Armenian Genocide theme in school curriculum still forwarded by former French President Nicolas Sarkozy came into life under Holland rule, Armenpress reports citing CNNTurk.
French newly issued history and geography secondary school textbooks comprise Armenian Genocide materials. Some Turkish analysts deem thus French President Holland remains committed to draft criminalizing Armenian Genocide. As Armenpress reported earlier, the author of new textbook Valerie Perthue, suggested the pupils to draw a new glance to the history and examine a number of historical events, which are as usual not included in European school curriculum.
