Hovhannes Davtyan blames the referees for his defeat

Yerevan, August 3, ARMENPRESS: The Armenian 60 kg Judoka Hovhannes Davtyan thinks he could and should win a medal in the London Olympic Games. He was very close to it, but the referees deprived him of it. The athlete mentioned about this in the interview with “Armenpress”. Davtyan who has already left London for Armenia was very close to the semi-final, but was defeated by the Italian athlete; he failed also in the competition for a bronze medal.

Davtyan noted that the fights with the Italian and French athletes were almost equal, while the referees made remarks to him by it giving an advantage over his competitors. In judo it is not adopted to appeal the match results. Talking about his future plans, Davtyan noted that he is in a good shape and is going to get ready for the further competitions. To his opinion the London Olympic Games were organized on a high level and were impressive, but the justice of the referees should have also been maintained.
