The best British musical to be presented in “Golden Apricot” film festival

YEREVAN, JULY 7, ARMENPRESS: The British Council has defined a special prize in the framework of “Golden Apricot” Yerevan international film festival, which is entitled “Participation in Sheffield Doc/Fest 2013 festival”. Arevik Badalyan, who is responsible for the Public Relations of British Council`s Armenian branch , informed Armenpress, that the winner will be selected by the film festival jury and by the British Council representative. Sheffield Doc/Fest is one of the famous documentary film festivals, which every year brings together the best representatives of documentary films to discuss and represent the works created during that year. Since 1994, besides being a festival for films, it has already been an international stage for creating educational and collaborative opportunities.

On the occasion of Charles Dickens 200th anniversary, the British Council will represent “Oliver” British musical in the framework of non competitive “Book and film” program. “Oliver Twist" novel was nominated for the 1968 Oscar Awards in 11 nominations, being awarded for 6 prizes including the best film and the best direction work. “Oliver Twist" film will be presented at the small hall of Puppet Theatre on July 9, and at Moscow theatre on July 12.

During the cooperation years of British Council and “Golden Apricot” Yerevan international film festival Armenian film directors` films have been shown in Encounters international film festival held in Bristol, many British films have been shown on Armenian screens, experts arrived from the United Kingdom have organized master classes.
