“Golden Apricot” to pay a tribute to some devotees of global film world

YEREVAN, 6 JULY, ARMENPRESS: “Golden Apricot” Yerevan 9th international film festival will pay a tribute to some devotees of global film world, who died some months ago. Press secretary of the film festival Anahit Ardyan informed Armenpress, that a liturgy will be served in memory of Michelangelo Antonioni, Tonio Guerra and Theodoros Angelopoulos at St. Zoravar church, on July11. Their wives, the film directors, scenario writers will take part in the memorial ceremony. “Golden Apricot” Yerevan 9th international film festival will be held on 8-15 July. “Yerevan premieres”, “Retrospective showings” and “Tribute” non competitive traditional programs will remain in the framework. This year film program of CIS countries will take place by the support of interstate foundation of humanitarian cooperation of CIS countries. On the occasion of Yerevan to be declared as a global capital city of book by UNESCO, the film festival will include one more non competitive program entitled “Book and film”. The 4 traditional competitions will be presented in the festival as well. 90 selected films from 1250 ones will be represented in Feature, Documentary, “Stone” (short films) and “Armenian Panorama ” nominations. The Armenian Panorama program will be divided into 2 parts- Feature and Documentary subsections.
