The daily says former chief of the Criminal Investigations Department of the police Hovhannes Tamamyan may be set free from the court room before the parliamentary elections. The paper says this has been hinted by the events that took place yesterday in the court. The paper says Tamamyan and other defendants have pleaded guilty and petitioned to apply speeded up trial. The paper says the trial ended yesterday and the parties are preparing speeches. The paper says if the speeded up trial is applied no strict punishment is being applied. The paper says the article under which Tamamyan goes intends 6 years utmost punishment but in case of speeded up trial becomes four. The paper says as far as Tamamyan has pleaded guilty it is not excluded that his sentence will be applied conditionally if taking into consideration that he has many state awards. In other words the possibility that he will get two or three years conditional term and will be set free from the court is quite big.
