Acting head of staff of the Armenian NA Gagik Mkheyan wants to become head of parliament's staff, newspaper says

The daily Haykakan Zhamanak writes representatives of Free Democrats Ararat Zurabyan speaking to the reporter of the daily yesterday [March 2] stated that their party is forming a pre-electoral alliance with the Heritage party but is not going to enter to the list of the party. The paper says according to him, they will declare about the pre-electoral alliance on March 11 at the congress of Free Democrats Party. The paper says leader of the “Heritage” party Raffi Hovhannissyan stated that there are no final decisions yet. He only said that as of the moment there is a process which continues.

The daily Zhoghovurd writes that acting head of staff of the National Assembly Gagik Mkheyan, former member of the Rule of Law Party and singer Sofi Mkheyan’s father has applied to the Republican Party of Armenia for membership. The paper says there is an opinion that his decision is agreed with the prospect of becoming head of parliament’s staff. The paper says Mkheyan has refreshed his office and reception from yesterday and ordered secretary of the former head of parliament’s staff Gegham Gharibjanyan go down to the second floor (from the third) and sit in the reception there. The paper says it could not get comments from Mkheyan over this as he did not answer the phone calls.

The daily Hraparak writes former parliament speaker, currently the head of the Republican Party of Armenia campaign headquarters Hovik Abrahamyan continues not participating in the sittings of the National Assembly. The paper says the RPA’s executive committee’s sitting, which the republicans say will be decisive in respect of election lists, is scheduled for the coming week, during the days of women’s holidays.
