YEREVAN, FEBRUARY 21, ARMENPRESS: The banking system has registered high tempo of growth in all indices, Chairman of the Union of Banks of Armenia Ashot Osipyan told the reporters today.
In 2011 the total capital of the system grew by 44.8 billion and assets by 506.6 billion AMD as compared with 2010. During the past fiscal year the credit investments grew by 336.1 billion AMD.
"Positive indices have been registered in respect of loans provided to economy: the growth made 270.4 billion AMD," Osipyan said.
All the 21 trade banks operating in Armenia were included in the list of top 100 tax payers of 2011. The tax paid by them increased 1.7 times as compared with the 2010. Osipyan said last year the services and products of banks have become more available.
