YEREVAN, FEBRUARY 17, ARMENPRESS: The World Bank has allocated 11 million USD loan to Armenia. Jean-Michel Happi, the World Bank Country Manager for Armenia, told at a news conference Friday that with this financing the Government of Armenia is provided additional assistance for its efforts to improve the living conditions of the insecure and vulnerable groups of the population.

The program focuses on "infrastructural gaps" – restoration and reconstruction of schools, kindergartens, playing grounds, health centers, water pipelines.

"The situation is particularly serious in the rural areas of Armenia, particularly in remote and isolated communities, in the earthquake zone," Happi said. According to him, the additional financing will promote the implementation of over 50 micro-programs of restoration and renovation of infrastructures. In the sidelines of the suggested program, over 20 schools and kindergartens, five community centers will be furnished.
