The daily Aravot has referred to the Euronest Parliamentary Assembly held January 23-31 in Brussels, in which Armenian delegation headed by leader of ARF faction Vahan Hovhannisyan participated. Sittings of committees on economic integration, energy security and political affairs were held. And a sitting of the committees on Social Affairs, Education, Culture and Civil Society will be held in 3 weeks in Yerevan, Vahan Hovhannisyan told yesterday a news conference, adding that it will be the first outgoing sitting of the Euronest.
He expressed gratification on the active and fruitful activity of the Armenian delegation, highly assessing the work of the European advisory mission, which is playing a positive role for Armenia.
According to Mr. Hovhannisyan, during the committee on economic integration the Azerbaijani parliamentarians tried to prove that all difficulties of Armenia are conditioned by the circumstance of having a closed border with Azerbaijan, and Mr. Hovhannisyan said, repeating the approach of a number of political forces of Armenia, that all the difficulties of Armenia are a result of the Karabakh conflict and the border's being closed.
"We also had to explain that the standard of living of the Armenia, Georgiana and Azerbaijani populations are similarly bad, and though one of those countries has oil and the other gas, their people do not live better."
The daily Hayastani Hanrapetutyun writes Secretary of RPA faction Gagik Melikyan told a news conference that Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan is to head the pre-electoral list of the Republican Party of Armenia, adding it is his personal viewpoint.
"The parliamentary elections are not an end in itself for the RPA. Both parliamentary and presidential elections are one process for the RPA," said Gagik Melikyan.
The parliamentarian said the RPA participates in the parliamentary elections only for having an absolute majority in the parliament, strengthening its positions and ensuring Serzh Sargsyan's victory in the presidential elections 2013.

Minister of Economy Tigran Davtyan said the free economic zone will be formed for attracting foreign direct investments, for ensuring export volume growth through introduction of new technologies, creating new working places and for promoting stable economic development.
