The daily Zhoghovurd writes that according to its well-informed sources after signing decree on conduction of parliamentary elections in May President Serzh Sargsyan will come forth with a statement. The paper writes that according to initial information President Sargsyan will say that the political parties should involve more political figures in their proportional lists. The paper says thus the head of the Republican party will open the playing cards, expecting that all the parties having political characters will have bigger opportunity to appear in the parliament. The paper says it is not accidental that there is information that the list of the RPA will include for instance leader of the National Unity Party Artashes Geghamyan, chairman of the “Constitutional Right” Union Hayk Babukhanyan, Vazgen Manukyan, Khosrov Harutyunyan and others.
The daily Haykakan Zhamanak writes it has learnt that former head of President’s staff Karen Karapetyan will not be included in the proportional list of the RPA. The paper says Karapetyan intends to become an MP through majority system, he will be nominated in Tashir precinct.
The daily Hraparak writes local self-governmental bodies’ election campaign launched yesterday at several regions of Armenia. The paper writes the elections will be held February 12 and the hottest battle is expected in Hrazdan where incumbent mayor from the RPA Aram Danielyan and non-party, ANC member Sasun Mikayelyan will contend. The paper says mayor’s advisor from RPA Hovhannes Prtvanyan nominated and then withdrew his candidacy.
The daily Zhoghovurd writes about the developments over “Hayastan” supermarket saying that the change of its owner has turned into a massive fight. The paper says employees of Ameriabank visited the supermarket forced everybody leave the territory and closed the doors not allowing the lawyer of the supermarket enter the territory as a result of which a fight took place.
The paper says son of the owner of “Hayrapetyan Brothers” company Hayrapet Hayrapetyan has already returned to Armenia trying somehow fix the situation. The paper reminds that at 2007 parliamentary elections Hayarapetyan was nominated by the Prosperous Armenia Party but was not elected.
