The daily Haykakan Zhamanak writes deputy mayor of Yerevan has gone for vacation and will not return back to his office. The paper says according to some members of the RPA, this office of the deputy mayor may possible be eliminated, but the other part insists on the opposite.

The paper says Vahagn Arakelyan has been appointed tothe office by former mayor Karen Karapetyan. The paper says previously he was the deputy director of ArmRusGasProm on Finances. Moreover, Karen Karapetyan opened the forth office of vice mayor for bringing Arakelyan to the City Hall. The paper says as of the moment the office of the first deputy mayor of Yerevan is still vacant too. The daily says yesterday it tried to clarify from the press office of the City Hall when the first deputy mayor will be elected, an official said it is the matter of the Council of Elders.

The daily Haykakan Zhamank also writes that Vachagan Isoyan who had hit the gate of Armenia's Presidential Office on November 17 while driving a GAZ 2410-model car has been released from custody on December 27 and the case against him has been dropped.

The paper says Isoyan's sister Rita told the daily's correspondent that the inspector called them December 27 and said "I have good news for you. You have a New Year gift. Serzh Sargsyan has pardoned your brother."
