Haykakan Zhamanak writes Abovian mayor to soon be relieved of his duties

The daily Haykakan Zhamanak writes that newly appointed chief of security of the chairman of the Armenian National Assembly Samvel Nikoyan, Virab Ghazaryan, and NA Deputy Chief of Staff Erik Minasyan fought inside the parliament building on Tuesday.

The paper says they punched one another and exchanged profanities. The daily says according to its sources, the incident occurred when chief of Nikoyan’s security attempted to familiarize with some financial documents on NA Staff members’ business trips and on the activities of the cafeteria. The paper says Erik Minasyan resisted these attempts, saying he is not empowered with such authorization. The paper says Ghazaryan did not like it as a result they began fighting.

The paper says Virab Ghazaryan was the chief of security of former PM Andranik Margaryan, and, according to some information, he is appointed chief of Nikoyan’s security upon the suggestion of Vachik Ghazaryan, the chief of security of President Serzh Sargsyan.

The daily Haykakan Zhamanak writes President Serzh Sargsyan called the former mayor of Abovian Karapet Israelyan and tried to convince him to nominate his candidacy at the elections of Abovian mayor. The paper says according to its sources close to the authorities, incumbent mayor Karapet Giloyan, son-in-law of leader of the Prosperous Armenia Party will soon be relieved of his duties. The paper says according to the same sources, in certain circles of the RPA Karapet Israelyan was advised not to be engaged in the game as Serzh Sargsyan wants to use him against Tsarukyan who is in bad relations with Israelyan.
