The daily Hraparak writes that Russian authorities were trying to show in every way that they are dissatisfied with the foreign political orientation of the Armenian authorities. The paper writes that after rejecting the management of the atomic plant, the next step may be the regular increase of the gas tariff. The paper says as it is known this “weapon” the Russians used in 2003 and in 2008 before the presidential elections, trying to seize concessions and guarantees from the Armenian authorities. The paper says the logic is clear: the increase of the gas tariff in winter will raise discontent toward the Armenian authorities, complicating its reproduction.
The daily Aravot writes that head of the NA ARF faction Vahan Hovhanissyan stated at his last press conference that the National Assembly is not a place for businessmen MPs. The paper says after this statement a number of businessmen MPs expressed surprise at the private conversations that Hovhannissyan has forgotten about the business of the ARF MPs. “Ours is business and theirs not? Or is theirs traditional, and they are allowed ?” one of the RPA MPs told the daily.
The daily Zhoghovurd writes that the annual dinner party-donation event of “Hayastan” All-Armenian Fund will take place this week in Moscow with the participation of President Serzh Sargsyan. The paper says there is no great enthusiasm of participation and especially donations among the Russian-based businessmen who are searching for an occasion to be absent from the country or “be ill”.
The paper says it learnt from the staff of the Russian premier that according to approximate calculations there are about 50 thousand middle and big-sized businessmen in Russia. Naturally, they are ready to annually donate at least thousand US dollars to Armenia if this money really serve their purpose. The paper says it means that if the mentality of the Armenian authorities change, at least 50 million USD will enter the country. The paper says as to the biggest RF donor Samvel Karapetyan, he will more probably participate in the dinner, not wanting to cut the circles tying him with Serzh Sargsyan so openly.
