The daily Hraparak writes it has leant that President Serzh Sargsyan and Gagik Tsarukyan who has returned from Dubai met on the eve. The paper concludes that they have discussed the issue of recent arrests of members of the Prosperous Armenia Party. As far as we know, writes the paper, an arrangement has been achieved that the PAP will vote for the tax package presented by the government and will back the candidacies of Samvel Nikoyan in the office of the Chairman of the NA, and Eduard Sharmazanov’s in the office of vice speaker of the NA.
The daily Hraparak writes that until the political field waits for the response of leader of the Prosperous Armenia Party Gagik Tsarukyan to the idea of possible cooperation with the Armenian National Congress voiced at the recent rally, discussions of the statement continue inside the ANC. The paper writes in response to the question whether there are certain disputes connected with the statement of Levon Ter-Petrosyan cooperation with cooperation with the PAP, leader of the Armenia’s People Party Stepan Demirtchyan said: “I have not see such disputes. My viewpoint is the following: the cooperation with the PAP may be discussed after it withdraws itself from the coalition and become an opposition. As far as it ahs not taken place, I consider such talks unnecessary.”
The daily Aravot writes that commander of the battalion of the traffic police of Shirak and Aragatsotn provinces Armen Karapetyan who was working in the system for a long time was dismissed from the office and replaced by the commander of the Kotayk traffic police’s battalion Nikoghayos Yeghiazaryan. The paper says according to the official sources this replacement is agreed with staff reshufflings throughout the republic.
The daily says according to its police sources, Armen Karapetyan is a modest person, so modest that initially he refused to give testimonies against the former head of the traffic police Margar Ohanyan. The paper says Karapetyan had been threatened to be dismissed in case he did not give testimonies and wrote them as he was demanded.
